What do u need O2 for?

We always used CO2 to make snowmen.

Actually, I liked that question because many divers don't seem to think about where their diving first aid is at in case of an accident (God forbid). I have brought it up myself with a group that I am a safety consulant for.

You lost me on making snowmen, though. I know that I am the quintensential straight man here :) .

i've been toying with the idea of getting a kit (tax money burning a large hole in pocket) so was curious. has anyone looked at the stuff from DAN? they ahve like 3 different styles but no real details.

where do you MI people get O2 fills?

Ber Rabbit:
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Mike have one at the quarry?
Ber
YES...gilboa is O2 equipped unless something is new for this season.

Also, it is likely that there will be a diver or 2 on the dock who has a bottle of O2 close by anyway.

And ME. I'm bringing pecan pie...

How about some cold cuts? Will we need 'em?

OK were shaping up nicely I noticed my last update didnt show up so I kind of scanned through the pages to check on who is bringing what. So I might have missed something if I did please let me know.

15 days left mitten diver is right this is like waiting for Christmas[/QUOTE]

But I think that I'll assemble my O2 kit from something other than DAN parts.

Heck, you can get the stuff from a local supplier. Say Lincare for example.

ebay has some different ones, too. All you'd have to do is kit this one up.

IMHO, DAN oxygen kits are too expensive.

Oxygen fills are easy to get! I just go to the dive shop. He has Helium, Argon, O2, pre-mixed EAN36, and air already there. I just take my pick!

Although, I do know of a gas supplier that I am thinking of buying some gas from as soon as I take a gas blender's course.

U know hose them down w/ CO2 and they look like frosty, especially in a wet wetsuit :ice: .

Also good for spraying under restroom stall doors, works best when someone on other side is using a WD40 torch :devil_2:

I didn't think we were going to be diving that extreme, I was in my LDS getting my tank Vis done and one of the owners was labeling a 40cu.ft. pony for O2 for deco stops.

Depends who shows up! I might be in for a couple of deco type dives if we get the right crowd. If not, I am content to play around in the shallows and collect bottom time time.

Our diving may not be that extreme, but there always seems to be one or two groups of practicing cave divers that ARE doing a lot of "extra safety stops". As well, diving need not be extreme to have something unexpected happen. Mr. Murphy is always waiting (unfortunate fact of life). Every once in a while I would like to see that he keeps waiting instead of making his introduction, LOL.
