Actually, I saw that, and I'm hoping they're RIGHT.

This time of the year it could be 40 and raining. Or sleeting. 60 I figger is a win for us.

Yes your right it could be 30 and sleet but I was just remembering last year and the beautiful warm and sunny weather we had. A repeat of that this year would be nice is all.

Wait a second.....no one told me that there was a possiablity of me getting wet on this trip. :pity_part

Hey there!

I'm not sure what to bring. GTLX has the following listed for me...

"Diver Paula
1.Tripod and Iron skillet
2. Something else she mentioned but Im not going back through 20 pages to see what it was so Paula let me know what it was. "

I originally signed up to bring a tripod and a huge kettle thinking chili or soup would be greatly appreciated after a couple of cold dives &/or if the weather wasn't top notch. What's the consenus? Needed? Wanted? Or are the dogs / burgers / turkeys enough main course type food? Let me know so I know whether to start thinking in another direction.

I also said I'd bring a 5 gallon drink cooler (like they have on construction sites) full of water. Now a couple other people have volunteered for bottled water. What should I fill the cooler with? Water (filtered, of course)? Ice tea? Something else?

I also be bringing an extra drysuit and undies if someone wants to try it out. When last used it had no leaks. I checked the seals yesterday and they are in good shape. Both are custom made by White's. The suit is tri-laminate with latex wrist seals and neoprene neck. The boots are attached neoprene lined rubber. I'm 5'6" and well rounded. The boots were a bit large for me - I wear a woman's 11 (approx. men's 9.5).

There's a lot more extra dive gear in my basement if anyone wants to try something out. I do have my 6'6" father's drysuit undies (drysuit too but it's in bad shape). Not sure what size but I'll guess XXL or XXXL. Also ponies of various sizes, my sister's BC from when she was 11. I'll be bringing three steel 95's and could loan one out. Other than that, just ask and I'll see what else I can find in the basement.

Other than that I have tons of different camping items. Let me know if there is anything in particular I should bring. Portable propane grill? Standing grill to go over the fire? Work out a grill to hang from the tripod? Lantern? Coleman grill? Cast iron skillets for the pancakes, etc?

I'd bring it all but there's just so much room in my vehicle. I will be bringing a two person tent - right now a board member from Indiana will probably be joining me.

I'm headed to Pennsylvania so it may be a couple days until I'm able to check the board again.

Looking forward to getting back in the water after a much too long hiatus!
Paula

Hey Paula,

If in doubt, bring it! I would suggest the tripod and hot fluids as well with all of the wetsuit divers that will likely show up. I have been diving in wet weather before and it does have the effect of chilling you during surface intervals instead of helping you to warm up.

I also think that the water cooler is a great idea.

See everybody in a little under a week!

Brian

I think I'm going to throw in my shelter tent just in case (Brian it looks like the one your Dive Rite buddy uses).

Hey Ken, why not throw in your green one just in case. If you have the sides for it bring them too, I'll bring mine. That will give us more room to put food, etc. to keep it dry if it does rain. Too bad we didn't pick this weekend but I did manage to get the outside work done at the house so I'm free to dive this spring :)
