Since I have only dove in FL and the Bahamas I have a question.
What's a cold water reg?
And is there anything else different than what I normally use that I would need?

Good question... the bottom line is that the cold water regs are designed to resist freezing open (causing the freeflows that Penny and DMP refer to) in cold water. If you are real concerned, I will loan you one of my stage regs. But, I doubt that you will want to go deep on the first cold water dive that you do. Typically any reg works if you stay shallow. But, they have to work harder to deliver air at depth and will tend to freeze open deeper. There are several regulators that work for cold water use.

There are many people more knowledgable than me on this. My knowledge is from the "I can seen some that don't work and several that work well" school. Dive with us at the meet and greet and one of us (maybe even me) will have time to give a better explanation. Let's just say that I am far from a salesman and have sold the Aqualung Legend LX for the dive shop to diver's that tried to do the advanced class with "warm water regs" up here, LOL.

And Yep! Still looking at tax weekend!

I'm still planning on being there, also.

Brian, any chance that dry suit will fit a 5'11", 160 pounder? (Just 1" taller than what you listed). Last dive I did, I only got the one dive in . . . .

Don't worry about it Down have one for you already.
Instead of a piston reg, you will have one with a diaphram.

Ken, it should fit you just fine. You and I are about the same size.

Hey Brian, you up to a night dive then?

OK wreckers it is time once again to put this thread back into shape. It has now seemed to veered off into DMP's personal pick up post. Save it for the meet and greet or PM's PLEASE we have 20 pages here and only 1 really contains any info on the meet and greet. I dont mean to be a hard ***** hear but I know I dont like having to wade through 20 post to find out if any thing is important has been said or someone has pointed out what they are bringing so I can update my list.

Thank you

gtxl1200:
speaking of canadian has anyone heard from the pink canuck to see if he will be joining us this year.

Also as long as Im posting I see this thread has gone way out of the subject now sort of. were down to about two months now. it is time to get things back on track.

Since no one stepped up to the plate in one of my other post I will do it again this year.

So far what we know
we will be having it the weekend of April 15-17th Myself and Brian and Cldwtrdvr will be there early friday to be official greeters.

Gtxl1200: 1.Bunk house which by the way all bunks have been spoken for unless people want to have a private meeting with me and we can talk bribes and greasing my palm with green paper and other such methods to advance you to a bunk and bump somebody out. If you have a sleeping bag and dont have a tent I do have some floor space available. Read above about moving off of the floor to a bunk.

3. Name Tags. For those of you who we havent met yet.

Notsoken and several others BEER.

So we have beer, bunks and coffee so far so. We can indulge in adult beverages and have a place to sleep but we still dont have anything yet to eat. So either PM me or post on here what if anything you will be bringing. and I will update this list to keep everyone informed. of what we have so far and what we still might need.
