Bflem55:
hey guys just wondering what the vis. and temps are like up there Im heading up tom. morning for advance open water training. I however have never been to gilboa cant wait.

A little late, and if you were up there, you already know- surface temps high 60s low 70s, thermocline around 28 feet-ish, at the tubes (60 feet) the thermometer read 44, and on the deep side 70-100 feet on Saturday, Steve_dives' computer read 42 degrees.

So, to quote Ken, "warm water dives all around..."

Notso_Ken:
Yes, Ber does a great job planning the dive, then diving the plan. Even if SOMEBODY (who shall remain nameless) goes and does something like have a freeflow. That possibility was covered in the plan, and the response was per the plan.

Ken

You could title it, "Quarry Fails to Claim Life" or "Diver Nearly Dies at Depth." That might make the cut...

trucker girl:
I stand by my statement. You have a strange inner-warmth (both in personality and body temp). That better?

OK, I love it! Much better!

Ken

I thought about posting a thread titled "One rabbit, One beanie, Two Free Flows and a Few Wet Ducks" to put a trip report and pictures in, but I guess we should just post them all here instead!

OK, what did I miss with the wet ducks?

Whew! Got caught up on the thread.

As far as nicknames, I'm a little afraid of what this group might come up with!

Did any one check Ber's BC for UNO cards? I think she was slipping cards into a weight pouch. :D

Paula & TG - Nice meeting you!

Ber Rabbit:
*Edit - I had to cut out several rofl3's.* It wasn't a brick it was a concrete block:rofl3: :rofl3: Hoooo boy,:rofl3: I can't breathe :rofl3: :rofl3: Nothing like having your staff come back from setting up something your students are going to have to retrieve and the dive briefing goes like this:
Student: How'd it go?
Staff: It SUCKED! Good Luck!

:rofl3: :rofl3: I think I'm going to pee my pants :rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3:

Well, at least while we were struggling to get ourselves and the blocks neutral I didn't have someone swimming up to my face and signaling out of air! :D

For those of you not able to make the trip, Ber & I arrived Friday night to set camp and make a night dive so Ber could try her new light (with batteries this time :D ) and I could make a dive with the pony bottle. After a couple tries at switching from my primary to my pony, we practice a couple where I donate air to Ber, then we leave the platform for a little swim. Little did I know Ber would continue to run out of air another 14 times on that dive! :D

Ber - On the last OOA drill we got to 12.5 feet. FWIW our ascent rate during that drill was 27.45 feet / minute. So is anyone willing to believe I managed the ascent rate, dive light, air donating, switching to the pony, at night, and while wearing mittens???

Ber Rabbit:
That means I get a lot of back to back dives since I'd like to compare my computer with as many people as possible. My regular students don't let me dive deep back to back like that without at least an hour SIT, I train them to look after me :D
Ber :lilbunny:
