Not to be contrary but I have never seen pool water do anything like that. I guess if one were to get out of a pool and find their skin sloughing off you might be concerned about a silicone diaphragm. I think we are missing part of the information here. Something is amiss somewhere here.

Please keep us up to date on what is causing this and what scubapro says. Are they under warrantee?
I'm also going to suspect a Chinese imposter for the diaphragm, some weird compound that is neither rubber or silicone. Somehow the regs got them slipped in even sold as new. Or perhaps a bad batch of faulty diaphragms?
Where did you buy these?
That looks like a break down in material, not bug bites.

I guess they are under warrantee, but i don't really know how to use it since i've bought them in France and i'm currently in the Philippines (and i'm not going back). Is there a way scubapro still get them under it ? Tho i didn't even found any other things than Dive Pacifica in Manila from the website, but maybe i'm not searching the correct way...

+1, never seen anything like it. I'd ask Scubapro HQ if they want to have that diaphragm to look at it (and tell them the serial of the 2nd stage).

Really they would be interested ?! Where do i contact them then, any idea ?

have you been diving any pools lately and forgot to rinse off? pool water with too much chemical added can do that

No pools, only Puerto Galera ocean

To be fair, i really don't know what piece of information i might forget...

Good questions. I think there people are on the forum who know. @rsingler?

Those photos are inconsistent with silicone rubber, and instead look exactly like dried, aged butyl rubber.
I suspect some chemical immersion, which is consistent with both regulators failing at the same time. But a silicone diaphragm should simply not do that. Especially after ten dives!! @Mobulai had a great suggestion. To maybe rule out chemical exposure, pry that black plastic cap off the first stage and see if the clear silicone environmental seal underneath looks the same. If not,
a) the first stage wasn't exposed like the seconds, or
b) the diaphragms aren't silicone, like the first stage environmental seal.
If they do look the same, then this is really weird.
I agree with most everyone before me. This is so unusual as to be bizarre. Inspect the rest of the second stage case for anything similar - discoloration or crazing of the case or faceplate.
Random conspiracy theory? The original diaphragms may have been switched out with cheap NBR aftermarket items before your purchase. Less likely possibility? Scubapro had a secondary supplier problem, and temporarily sourced from a bad company. I compared yours with my six year old G260 diaphragm (pics below) and yours sure look genuine.
SAVE THOSE DIAPHRAGMS, together with the serial numbers. I doubt you'll ever get any satisfactory answer from Scubapro, but depending upon from whom you purchased it, you should at least get replacement diaphragms. If not, the repair parts should be no more than US$30.
Good luck.

If you purchased the gear from an authorized channel then maybe a lawsuit might force answers out in the public domain. Either you spend personal money to have the composition of the material analysed in a lab back in France or force Scubapro to provide an explanation that is legally tenable (and fix anything that needs fixing)…. But to do that you have to save the diaphragm material from going out of your hands ….
Not saying you should go that route - I would say even if Scubapro identifies a bad supplier and rectifies it thats good enough - as long as they own responsibility for it.

I would like to see a picture of the second stages, inside and out. I know of no chemical or solvent that would normally be found in a scuba environment (boats, pools, beaches, oceans, lakes) that could cause that sort of deterioration to a silicon component. Weird.

My bet is these are not OEM scubapro diaphragms.
Has there been any Scubapro recalls?
There would have been a bulletin and a recall instantly if they knew about this. Scubapro doesn't mess around.
I going to pull the "life support equipment" card and say that this is a critical problem and a genuine death hazard if one if these happened to come appart on someone 130' deep or imaging a deep tech dive! We buy this stuff because it's supposed to be the best possible gear available.

OP, if you are not able to contact Scubapro because of logistical reasons then please delegate someone else to do it.
Scubapro needs to made aware of this immediately!

Hello guys,

I'm asking for knowledge from those of you who service regulators!
I have an MK19 Evo with two G260s that are still fairly new.

I bought the whole package brand new in August 2024, and I've only done around 10 dives in tropical water with it (I had to wait before I could start using them).

I had no issues with the reg until the 10th dive, but after a break of about two weeks, both went KO on the 11th dive.

The diving crew was kind enough to provide a spare. I tried to have mine serviced and fixed here in Coron, Philippines, but it's quite difficult. Anyway, that's not the point of this thread…

I'm attaching pictures of the diaphragms from both my regs after opening them. I was quite shocked by their condition and was wondering if any of you have ever seen this before. Do you guys have any theories on the root cause? Even the diaphargm in itself feels extra thin !

Just to clarify, the most damaged one is from my secondary, which I barely used (if you can even say I used the primary at all o_O)

Thanks for your anwsers !
Hi @Saty, you can contact Pacifica Dive Makati in this number 09175094220, makati@pacificadive.net.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply, i've been kinda offgrid.

Here is a google photos link with high resolution picture, with the 1st open too.

Dive Pacifica can indeed service it, i'll send it to them.
In the meantime i contacted the shop where i bought them, they asking for picture which i'm sending them. Now i'm waiting for their reply.
