Assuming they’re unmodified:
#1 is either a 3rd or 4th gen; if metal barrel then 4th, I’m guessing 4th based on the locknut (but that’s not definitive)
E2A: circular button = gen 3&4
#2 is 2nd gen, based on the knob (which indicates no seatsaver bal chamber)

Can this version be upgraded to the latest version?

Yes exactly. The first two digits indicate the year of manufacture for ScubaPro regulators. This first stage is from 2006.

The serial number is also present on the second stage. On some ScubaPro models its around the exhaust, on others you have to remove the mouthpiece.

I'm fairly certain that the above isn't universally true, very old ScubaPro regulators will differ. I can't tell you when they started numbering them like this.

I checked all the other 3 new in the box regulators, they all have the same numbers in the top row, 06077.

Besides the looks, the only/main difference is metal vs plastic barrel
Check the post I linked here for “upgrade guide”:
The guide:

An alternative is to scavenge g500s for the metal barrel

But essentially from a function PoV, onlz the 1st gen is the different one (the different balanced chamber); I consider it a downgrade to change to the newer variants, but it does make service/tuning much easier to be fair (as Geo said, special tool needed)
My personal preference: the g500(1st gen600) status is superior; lots see it oppositely

Thank you!

I am going to upgrade all of the ones I have to the latest iteration of the S600. I think that I have 5 or 6.

If you also want to upgrade the covers (just for looks, not sure if there’s an improvement in functionality)

Might be they phased out the cover kit though.. you'll probably have to ask your dealer. At least it's not in the current catalogue anymore, only the barrel kit. Kinda weird though that something waaay more ancient like 10 to 10+ is still in there.

Oh, it you do indeed buy new covers, can I have your old ones (I wanna beautify some g500s, amd their purge buttons are really stiff)

Forcing support to move to s620 instead of 600 (and tge cover style reverted again)
Or they got rid of the injection moulds when they wore out, but the barrels are just machined 🤷🏽‍♀️
