Seriously???

I don't care what it looks like. I have a camouflage 30 and that would fit in rather nicely as I'm refitting for single tank cold water diving.

Please email me with what you would like to get for it...

Yes, seriously, I got it about 2 years ago from CA. I'll email you when I get home later tonight.

Just sent you an email.

Update:

SP won't sell my LDS the part as they don't order enough from SP. SP won't look at the reg because I didn't buy from an official shop and cannot prove original purchase was made on Japan soil, really ??

Language is a problem so I cannot talk to SP direct. I'll provide the serial number of the reg to my LDS and they can check if it was ever registered or should at least be able to prove it was a Japan model.

Can't believe how hard this is, fact is it's a genuine brand new SP first stage that has a from factory defective piston. I'll post over on SP forum later today and see if they can offer any assistance. Bummed.

Factory defective piston

Failing that anyone want a new, in need of new piston MK25 EVO? I'm open to offers. Postage would be about $20 USD. Cheers.

I'm interested. I would prefer the SP fixed the problem, but if they wont how much do you want?

With regard to SP I have had great support in Australia. The LDS has been able to provide parts, they even provided a piston at $AU107. SP have undertaken repairs on a BCD that I had purchased second hand (and I told the shop), covering freight both ways. It's sad that they don't offer a consistently good service.

Thanks for your reply, I'm going to at first exhaust all attempts and getting it fixed by SP. As it is, it's not worth much I guess. I have no idea as to a fair price. I guess it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. I'll just see what SP say first. I'll keep this updated. Cheers.

SP are saying the piston is not the problem and a flat spot is "nornal" and won't affect anything. They have asked I send the whole set to them to get looked at. They keep talking about my use of a long hose on the 5th port as possibly causing the issue. I have no faith. Not sure whether to send or try and figure it out myself...hmmm...

It turns out the flat spot is apparently normal "part of the new design". They are still talking about the long hose and my use of the 5th port and say if I use only the other LP ports it would work fine. This I find astounding. Anyway looks like at no charge to me, they will check it out so have asked I send them complete Reg set for evaluation. Will send to them and see what they say.

If the 5th port is not compatible with long hose, SP should have declared it in the first place.
However, how many divers using the 5th port with a long hose has problem with free flowing 2nd stage?

This is getting interesting; I'm looking forward to hearing the findings. I'm hoping SP sorts this out at no cost to you. However, blaming the turret end port as the cause of the problem sounds a bit odd. Has this idea come from SP or just the LDS? Same question for the flat spot on the piston.

Both have said the same thing re 5th port but only SP said flat spot is normal.

Interestingly Centrals posted a link in my thread running on SP forum (I've linked above) where this very issue was discussed...doesn't sound promising...

oh well, on the bright side if it's not defective at least I'll get more for it when I sell and regardless of outcome it will be for sale, I'm done with piston regs.

I'll send it to SP as per their instructions as I too am curious as to what they come up with. I'll keep this thread updated and the other as more info comes to light. If I was a betting man I'd say I'm going to get the "there's nothing wrong with it, it's normal, just don't use the 5th port". We shall see.
