Must say this introduction to cool old regulators is costing some money, I e bought 3 Conshelf (2 new), 8 G250s, one SP 109 and am currently bidding on another 109. Cost of regs plus kits etc is not cheap. No two ways about it buying a brand new top end Reg set would have been way cheaper but not as fun and certainly not as cool. Having said all that it is now time to exercise some self control before I end up bankrupt and stuck on dry land as have no functioning Reg sets haha...

I was happy with just a couple of sets of Apeks regs until I started reading here on SB about vintage regs etc...a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and costly. But again, it is a lot of fun and for the first time in many years I feel my old brain working again, albeit slowly.

DIYer who are not saving $$$ are doing something wrong.

Agree, the cost of getting the regs in the first place can cost the money but after that money is saved....my reasons, as with many others I'm sure though is not about just saving money but satisfaction, learning, self sufficiency etc, well it's my main motivation anyway. Diving for me isn't just about looking at pretty fish, it's the whole package, it's a lifestyle...

What is the blue thing in the middle of the reg? Does it come off and is there the "S" button underneath? It's new and I think I want it...well the 2nd stage anyway, I'll sell on the 1st...they want almost $700 buy now...super ouch...
