If the 5th port is not compatible with long hose, SP should have declared it in the first place.
However, how many divers using the 5th port with a long hose has problem with free flowing 2nd stage?

Agree and good question. I'd be curious as to how many others have experienced this issue. I wonder if it's an inconsistent issue hence not being more widely reported. Perhaps only happens with some 2nd stages and SP doesn't actually know why so makes a blanket statement about not using 5th port with long hose.

I've used 2 different G250s, 3 different XTX50 2nds and one HOG Zenith, the problem persists regardless of what 2nd I hook up. The only constant is the MK25. Hooked up to an Apeks 1st stage, no problem.

Just ordered some DS4s.

I just got my hands on two brand new new Conshelf XIV second stages as luck would have it, will pair them with an Apeks DS4 1st stage as they are simple, reliable, easy to get parts for and I trust them. Pretty excited to get them in the water

I don't remember who here said it first, but i think it should be the official DIY motto. " DIY even if it costs twice as much"

Sure, there are start up costs and the occasional learning curve experience that may cost a bit extra, but if you often spend more than it would have cost to have it done, maybe diy is not a good idea.

.........so do we start Buddhasummer on an Aquamaster and slowly leach his funds, or suggest he do the logical thing and purchase a Kraken? Vintage Double Hose • View topic - Argonaut Kraken specifications

Yes, that is my plan but now you have done gone and exposed me!

As to DIY costing more, no, no way. See, whenever I pay somebody to do something, I then have to do it over, so therefore it costs three times as much not twice as much. I think some of you guys are a touch off on the math.

DIY does save money most of the time but I think many if not most DIYers would do it even if it didn't.
