Congratulations, @bretski ! Well done!

For the lurkers, my advice on lube was to lubricate the threads of the environmental cap, just so no-one thinks I'm recommending lubricating diaphragms, lol.

@bretski 's got hisself a high performance set there!
Yes, on the threads. Edited my post to clarify. 🙃

Congrats @bretski and thanks for the updates
Still waiting on mine to ship, if it gets here in the next 3 weeks it may get its shake down in Thailand.
it’s mad tiny btw, just a hair bigger than the mk11e (which I sawIRL 1st time also yesterday) — just saw it yesterday at the SP booth in boot

Pool testing went smoothly. Even better news is that the new primary 2nd stage hose that I thought was going to be a problem, wasn't. Obviously, 3m of pool water is far from the end all of performance testing, but I will say that I didn't "notice" the regs one bit while giving my son some skill practice refreshers. So I consider that a good thing.

Getting organized for our trip to the BVI next week.

By the way, I don't mind your adopting me and buying me dive gear. I'd even hold your hand underwater if you do.

Have a great trip, and enjoy your time diving there!

Back from BVI, great trip! The 17E2 performed beautifully, and it'll definitely be my travel first stage of choice. I won't lie, I didn't fall in love with the S620Ti, though. It was noisy at depth...enough to annoy me.

I swapped to the G260 halfway through the trip, and it was a dream. Same silky performance as the ole G250, which I let my son dive. He asked if he could keep it. LOL.

Sounds like the new Mark 17 is very nice and compact in use, nice.

Yes, the G250 was the high point and everything since is a wanna be almost as good ;).

Yes, it's really compact, and there were no hose routing issues. Next time, I might try flipping it over, just to see if it makes any difference in hose ergonomics. I do need to get a slightly longer inflator hose, but that was a "me" problem for not measuring well enough. ;)

Your main/only complaint is the "noisness" at depth or are there other issues besides this point?
