I've received a lot of criticism for trying to talk with Mossman at all.
Sorry, but I feel that's sort of sick. You've received criticism for daring to question DIR by daring to engage me. If that's not cultist, I don't know what is. If I merely bashed PADI and you wanted to talk to me about it, would you get the same sort of criticism? What are they trying to hide?

I fully support your right to talk with anyone here and would never criticize your doing so. After all, I didn't say anything too negative after you decided to dive with Aldora, even though I definitely disagree with your choice :)

If you and everyone else want to believe I have no idea about GUE and DIR just because I haven't taken one of their classes, that's OK too. Incredibly wrong, but that's OK. You don't even have to thank me that I convinced JJ to change the original waiver for the class you took, because I obviously don't know what I'm talking about.

After 210 mins down under today your still going mossman, good job. I do understand your view, yet whether edged on or what have ya, to keep it up is what is needed for some to see your point.

Now said that, I also want to let you know I did trick you a bit, If you think that Hells Angels do not dive you really do not know how many there are and what they are as a motorcycle club, so it also lets me believe you do not know all about the scuba diving clubs per se DIR.

Mossman if you became a Hells Angel you can go any where in the world and pretty much be treated like a king while your there, at pretty much no cost, Yes that means dive all over the world.

But like you say, they don't dive.

Happy Diving

Wow, uh, great. That is something that I did not expect from this thread--the opportunity to hobnob with somebody who has intimate knowledge of a notorious criminal enterprise. How are the diving programs in the Crips, Bloods, and MS-13, VooDoo? Those of us with clean consciences and arrest records--who would also like to dive for free and be treated like (Latin?) kings--could use your guidance. This information is not as freely available on the internet as it should be.

This thread has become beyond surreal. After the last several posts, I'm not sure if I'm having an acid flashback, or am experiencing program anomalies in the Matrix!

The criticism I received had nothing whatsoever to do with the actual topic being discussed. It could have been a conversation about PADI, NAUI, or how to cook the best popcorn in space - the topic wasn't the issue. The issue was that I was being perceived as "feeding a troll" because of your insistence on posting rude and insulting things, ignoring what others were posting back to you, and just generally stirring the pot for no purpose other than to mock and demean. That's what trolls do, and it's generally considered bad form to respond to them at all, as it serves only to perpetuate the unpleasantness. I didn't want to believe that's what you were doing, but I see now that you were. I see now that the criticism was valid. You have no interest in having an actual discussion, or even debate, about diving, DIR, or anything really. You just want to throw crap at a crowd and see who you hit, for...I dunno...entertainment, I guess.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Mossman, is your middle name PiFi?

I was on Bonaire once when motorcycle gangs took it over. They weren't Hell's Angels, they were from Curacao. And no, they didn't dive.

Entertainment of course. Why else would I be here if I wasn't having fun?

But I'm no troll and my criticisms are valid.

Logging on this morning from Houston, I noticed an ad for TDI's Intro to Tech. Is this the equivalent to DIR-F? Has anyone taken both classes and, if so, how do they compare? Sorry, but I don't see the value on an "intro" class of any sort when one can take the real thing - if one isn't ready for the real thing, why take it?

(As for ignoring what others were posting back to me, do you really expect me to reply to everyone when everyone is ganging up on me? I'm solo after all and can only type so fast.)

Wow, JJ AND the waiver...how are you not a common household name in the diving community?

I'm not? Now my ego is really bruised.

The original GUE waiver required all class participants to assume responsibility for the entire "team". Legally, a student could have been sued if the instructor had an accident and that's not right. JJ, after consulting with his lawyers, agreed. The waiver was changed. You're welcome.

But I'm just a troll, so what do I know?
