Hello, New to this site and diving. LOVE IT! Can't wait for every weekend. Just the planning is fun. I was wondering what is the best way to haul my equipment. I have the basics and rent my bcd, reg by a place by my home and rent the tank on location. I purchased a back pack mesh bag but the gear is a little to heavy for me to haul around and the bottom already has small hole, it won't last at all. I was thinking of a hard plastic roll around tool box from Stanley. Anyone else use one or have one, any recommendations? Thank you for your input in advance!

Some use those roll arounds and where you aren't lugging cylinders it could be a real good solution.

Welcome aboard!!!
Please feel free to drop on down to our local forum and join in our fun here: SoCal
Nearly once a year there is a thread on how to set up your "Standley tool box" on the local site and I see alot of divers use them going over to Casino Point.
Feel free to start another thread in our local site and you will get alot of great ideas.
Hope to see you in the water one of these days soon....:D

I use the Stanley roll around tool chest. Everything goes in: 7mm wet suit, boots, gloves, BCD, fins....Tank goes on top and I'm ready to roll at a moments notice. It can also be filled with water for soaking/washing gear post dive. Bought it on Amazon for about $80.00, some people have found them at The Home Depot or Lowes but they did not carry it here in SoCal. The price has also gone way up, these used to be < $50.

I use a Rubbermaid tote that's long enough to fit my fins. Fits in the back seat of my car nicely and holds everything.

I stumbled across it one day in Target and picked it up. Haven't found a need for anything with wheels.

I have a mesh bag for the dive boats though.

My tanks are separate. I take two trips.

Everyone has their own solution. I use a bin from Rubbermade, that holds my regs, toolbox, can light, undies, base layer, masks, computer, compass, etc. My drysuit stays in a Whites backpack bag along with my fins, shoes, and hood. BC and tanks are usually together so I can carry them as a backpack. Typically takes two trips across the beach or stairs. One dive site I use a dolly, and am about to build a nice sand dolly out of aluminum with 19" Wheeleez tires.

For Catalina trips I hear the Stanley bins rock! With a metal plate on top you can attach the tank too, as shown in the picture above.

Look at the SOC or 5.11 Tactical Rush military back packs [Ebags.com]...They're made much better than most dive bags, have more pockets, a better lay-out of space and a lot cheaper......They come in a wide variety of sizes and configurations.....
