Do Northern Red Anemone ever move once established?

Question to all you marine biologists and Cliff Clavin's of the world. If a Northern Red Anemone finds his food supply diminishing do they pick up and move/relocate to more promising feeding ground? I'm under the impression that once they fix themselves in a spot they are there for good. My buddy believes they will move if their food supply ends. Please enlighten us. Sid

Actually I saw one zip right by my mask once. We couldn't catch up to it. Ok just a bit oh humor .

yes it does moves around. I've seen it moved.

Movement of Anemones

If they are happy they may never move. There are some in New England waters that have remained in the same spot for decades.
