Yes, I own 3 CCR’s. My first is a Jergensen Marine Hanmerhead which came with the old RevC handsets and front mount counterlungs back in 2010, but since been upgraded to a SubGravity Defender head and BM counterlungs which also has a water dump valve.

I have owned a SW1, S/N: J9181 since July 2019 and a DiveRite O2ptima CM since 2022.

There is no comparison about the flood tolerance between them. You can completely flow the Choptima and dewater it and it works fine with the ExtendAir cartridges. The Defender is also very flood tolerant as have completed a 330 foot dive with 2+ hours of deco with the canister 1/2 full of water with the radial scrubber still working fine on deco as long as semi-vertical. The only 2 bailout I had in the last 15 years have been cave diving the SW1 due to unable to dewater the loop/CL.

Go back and re-read my initial post. I did say that both units were designed by the same person. But no way are the units similar - at least the SW1 has two canisters that sort of acts as semi water trap and getting the cells wet which are on the inhale canister, whereas the GO just has one canister.
was only asking because the fanbois get upset when the sw is talked badly about. Its actually why I will share my experiences. Every single person I talked to before considering the sw said it was the best thing ever with no issues. Then months later after I had actually trained on it and I told them about my negative experiences, that they suddenly changed their tune on it not having flaws. Several people I know with negative experiences with the sw refuse to share them online because they say when they do the fanbois get all up in arms. I wish somebody had shared their true thoughts before I spent a bunch of money. I try to be honest with people about the unit because I was so disappointed and wish'd I'd been given more info.
Not saying you're a fan boy, just doing my due diligence.

I've not been shy about my misgivings regarding the sidewinder... On the other hand before the genesis was released it did do things no other available unit could accomplish - especially in terms of having redundant dil-out.

I haven't even seen a Go in the flesh so hard to judge, but I expect it has more minuses than the marketing would lead you to believe (kinda like everything scuba)

I will definitely say you've been one of the dew to be honest

I've been diving the KISS Sprit LTE (aka OG sidewinder) for 10 years and way more than 1,000 dives. Actually, two of them as my wife has one as well.

First thing, I want to know who are the idiots diving flooded CCR units? Bail out if its flooded! Better yet, put it together properly and it won't ever flood at all! If the unit does accumulate up a small amount of water, it's generally not coming out and stays in the counter lungs. I've had Zero problems with this in 10 years.

It's going to break because it's fragile? No, it's not. It's quite tough and the only damage I've ever had was a loop hose the got a hole it in it. I cut a few inches off that hose and kept diving. Ordered a new set of hoses and carry a spare. I replace the o-rings every 500 dives or so and keep a spare set handy. I've worn out a few fischer cables, but never had one completely fail. Any parts that break can be ordered from KISS and I can replace it without factory service. It's very DIY friendly.

I've dragged two of these units around the world multiple times and driven them across the PNW of the US and Canada for 10 years. I've been very happy with KISS and will almost certainly pick up a SW2 for backmount use when available.
