Just a fun review of the unit:
Interesting. I like the simplicity, but I'm mildly skeptical about the MAV placement. Seems to me it'd limit access to the drysuit inflator.

And I'm curious how the counterlungs work with diving SM. Might the tanks press on the counterlungs and reduce their capacity/increase WOB?

Also, about the counterlungs... I only dive a Choptima, so I have very limited knowledge, but having one orifice in each counterlung for gas exchange seems to be...um...less than optimal. Do other units' counterlungs have single in/out holes, or is it more typical to have separate inlets and outlets?

Two thoughts:
I've seen military personnel with absolutely zero OC experience learn to dive an O2 CCR in a day or two. Yes this is more complex but not abundantly so. I suppose we'll see how the statistics pan out.

2nd thought:
I used an above water firefighting CCR with similar lung placement and gas routing. Lung interchange didn't seem to be a problem in terms of CO2 retention and we worked those units very hard. However accidentally collapsing a lung with your elbow was a constant issue.

This diver proved us wrong.
Lots can be achieved in 20 dives when you only spend 18 minute underwater on each:

O2 CCR is significantly simpler than mixed gas CCR but I also know people who learned OC after CC.
