Always a plus…you can bludgeon your way out of a bar fight with the CX2.
I have tried the CX2 a few times on dog walks. It does not get very warm to the touch in the ~15 minutes it takes the dogs to do their business. It is definitely overkill for a dog walk flashlight, plus I prefer a broader beam for early morning and late night walks—the better to send skunks and raccoons on their way.See my post above yours about light turning on unintentionally. I would not use it above water.
The CX1 is a great light in fresh water. Salt was a huge downfall for it.
