Did S. Brohard this morning. Entered around 9:30. East winds, outgoing tide, water temp 82 & viz was 3 - 5 ft. depending on where you were. Twas good to get back in the water.:D

Vis 1'-5' lots of silt found a few spots that were clean also lots of snot
finds 1 3" meg, 1 partial 2 1/2" meg, 3" dia vertabrate, and usual small stuff
 
@18' 4-6' viz few megs lots of smalls. @ 23' 3-4' of viz.. ear bones, whale teeth, megs, and the usual smalls. Overall flat calm and once the fog burned off was bright and sunny!:eyebrow:
 
Monday 9/19/11
Venice Beach, south end
Winds light from the E
Ditto Rick, waited til 10 AM to get in the water so the fog burned off
Temp @ 82, seas calm, between 16-18 feet
Viz 3-6, seems to be getting better every day!
Lots of bait fish in the water, all sizes, very cool! Small finds but like Dana, glad to get in the water!

South Brohard

Winds: East ~10mph
Seas: Flat
Tide: Outgoing
Water Temp: 81
Viz: 4-6 ft
Diving with #1 dive buddy (Anne), open water testing new rebreather. Lots of baitfish and large snook around the blocks. Still a good bit of silt in the water. Great dive and with the exception of a few minor tweeks the rebreather functioned perfectly.

Still a lot of snot
Silt is heavy and covering everthing only found a few areas that were clean
Finds 2 busted megs, a piece of mammoth tooth, some pieces of turtle shell and some small stuff
Came upon a manatee, but he didn't stay around
Had a 2' remora follow and bump me most of the dive

Conditions haven't improved actually has gotten a little worst than Sunday
Finds a big Mako 2 3/4 X 2 1/8 with broken tip, has some deformity, thought it was a meg til I got it home and cleaned it up some.
Will post pic later.

NE winds 16 mph
Tide just outgoing
@ 18 ft temp 79 degrees
viz 3-6 but silty and snotty
waves-a bit swelly and some current on the bottom
small find in the blocks, lots of fish. Everytime I went to put my hand on the bottom there was a flounder or a lizard fish. Had a pesky remora bump me when I was coming out in about 8 ft. of water. :) any day diving is better than working:cool2:

Vis 10' at the bottom of the sandbar and reef line, dropped to 4'-6' farther west few, spots in the silty areas 1'
silt seems to be moving west
Finds 3" meg w/ missing root corner, horse tooth and the usual small stuff
