11/10/2011 Surface conditions were perfect; North wind less than 5 kn, seas less than a foot. Wind changed to NW 10 kn early affternoon with 2 foot seas. Water temp. is 68-70, warm thermocline near the surface. Vis off Manasota Key was 4 feet. 12 divers all made good finds with a very nice 5 in Meg the prize of the day, almost whole bison leg bone found as well. 11/13/2011- Conditions on our dive sites off Manasota Key were quite favorable. Suface gonditions wer calm/flat in the early morning with North East winds, winds shifted to South East late morning with winds over 10kn and a good surface chop. Early afternoon wnds dropped, and surface condions were again ideal. Viz in 30/31 feet was a very clear 3-4 feet, water temp was 69F. As always some nice finds of Megs, and other land and marine fosils. 7mm suit and a hooded vest are required. Properly insulated divers easily completed consecutive 1 1/2 hour dives, and made the best finds. I have been diving my new Aqualung SolaFX 8/7 suit, and have been quite warm. There is no reason to suspend diving due to cold water, if properly dressed/insulated.
