Seas 1'-2'
winds SW
water temp 73
vis none till 18' then opened up 2'-3'

went a little south and hit, really, the artifical reef (pipes) vis <1'

got afew meg pieces, a couple makos, acouple hemi's, a chunk of mammoth tooth and little stuff.

Went out - could tell the in close areas were socked in so I went out about 150 yards before diving.

Vis - 2-3' in 18-20ft of water
temp - 74
some surge
South winds
no weeds or other gunk
I did notice on the way in that the west side of the reef in 15' of water was very clear - apparently protected by the reef - maybe 4' of vis in that one area.

Found one hemi - some little stuff - a puffer fish crushplate.
Quite comfy in a 3mm with beanie - did 100 minutes :)

Today 12:30-5:00

Vis was pretty good, 6'-10' throughout dive in 15' to 22' depth.

A light brown snaggletooth lower (I think) and a 2.5" mako upper.

I did Alhambra this morning. Viz inshore was 7 - 9. It was a little bumpy when I got in & was real bumpy when I got out so I imagine viz will begin to drop. Like Tooth said, a lot of snot & temp was 77.

got real bumpy by afternoon Winds out of the SW good 15 knts , lots of snot near shore and off shore, water temp in 28' was 74'. Vis was 12-15 ft in morning back down to 7-9 ft by afternoon
I was able to sneak a few pics of one of our divers stash on one dive with my cele phone from this weekend:D

Site Location: (Alhambra)
Water Temp: Recorded over the 2 hour 20 min. dive - 78-80
Vizibility: 7-10'
Tide state: Unknown (didn't matter, but it was probably on the lower side based on the sandbar)
Wind: From the east (as it has been the past week+)
Surf: mild, low waves entering and exiting (morning dive and only into the new artificial reef)
Presence of drift algae: Spawning particles were noticed.

This was my first dive to VB since August of '08. KBeck is still unfamiliar with the area and we were diving a buddy line.

Temps were great at 78-80 on my computer. We entered between the high palm trees and made our way out to the northern edge of the artificial reef. Algae was at a minimum from last year's dives, but I did notice all the "spuge" in the water from all the spawning.

We never made it past 17'. I counted 266 small teeth from our single dive, lasting 2:20. We ate lunch with Walter, Nancy at Pizza Hut, went home to shower and make it to a graduation...
