 going to be a windy weekend

Went to the beach this morning

Seas 3'
Vis looks like a cup of light coffee
Winds S and howling

Weekend is probably a washout

2th was right.
Went Sat and Sunday morning to Venice, Alahambra, Brohard, all the way down to Casperson (I was desperate).

At high/slack tide breakers were 3' on the beach with SSE winds at 15-20 knots.
Water looked like milk.
No divers, no dive boats, no diving this weekend.

I stopped and talked to Steve Thacker who had cancelled both Sat and Sun dives.

Note to self: don't just check tides, vis history, and wind direction; check wind SPEED. Drove 2 1/2 hours from Orlando with a non-refundable motel reservation. Hung out at the beach and drove back with a dry wetsuit

Tried it today with capt Jamie - seas were pretty flat - water is warming up - around 70 at the surface - I went down to check the vis - absolutely awful - maybe 6 inches. We called it a day - seems like it's going to be at least a week given the weather forecast.....
