Since computers use a formula, no matter which they choose, not actual physical blood chemistry it all something of a crap shoot.
Although it is certainly true that the algorithms used do not perfectly align with individual physiology, to say that they therefore amount to nothing more than a roll of the dice is a gross overstatement. The incidence of DCS on dives that are done within accepted limits is extremely low.

But they do happen, and it is hard to know why they do. That does not mean more than 100 years of research is useless.

Because they are supposed to. The probabilities are not zero, even if you drop your GF High below 60 where there is no data: that just means your risk is "undefined". Which is not the same as zero.

My point being don’t ride the edge thinking a computers readout will protect you, you have to learn you and not take unnecessary risks for an extra minute at depth.
