Cookies came standard with last years Halloweens cave diving costume. Rumor has it this year it will be line arrows. Fortunately, faux cave divers won't know the difference and probably won't need them either until they start including the kite reels with plastic snaps.
Looking like a cave diver seemed to be more important to them than actually being one. So what do cave divers carry? Cookies and arrows. I have some myself. Still in the plastic baggies for sale.
. But seriously I have considered using them in exercises with students on some low vis nav classes. I mean they are running reels and would be nice for the team behind to know they are following the right line. But then realized pieces of pvc are bigger and easier to write on with heavy gloves. Has anyone ever seen them used on a wreck? I have not to this point but see where they could be useful for exploration purposes by multiple teams. In the meantime I can tie them on a string and old fishing rod and have a dandy glow in the dark toy to aggravate the cats with.
