I have a rogue D400 that despite multiple seat changes refuses to seal until the cap is screwed so far down it cracks at over 1.6"" and even then...

A long shot, but does anyone have a, non damaged obviously, metal orifice they would consider parting with.

Much obliged.

Cheers

Make friends with a machinist, I doubt it’s to complicated to replicate. Have a few hundred made in titanium and you’ll make a killing bringing all of the dead “D’s“ back to life! Then you can move on to diaphragms and purge covers.

I have a few of the D series valve bodies that include the non-replaceable metal orifice. Is that what you need?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm after...the orifice on one of my D400s is toast, attempts were made to fix it but looks like to no avail, I simply cannot get it to seal, been playing with it all evening, 6 seats and counting, hoping (dreaming) it was a seat issue.

I would have thought if it was that easy someone would have done just that by now. If it is indeed possible and wouldn't cost me a kidney I'd certainly be keen. I'd have almost zero chance of that here in Japan though.

@rsingler ?

Get someone to set a program up for CAD, once you have that there are a lot more options.

I'd be curious if one could be made from delrin...

think about it, SP now makes orifices out of it....

I'm not sure that the valve bodies I have will fit a D400. Check the part numbers for the valve bodies for the D300 and early D400, see if they're the same. (I don't have time to do it today). I don't have numbers for the bodies I have, but I bet they are for the D300
