I had a friend who had a similar issue with a Blacktip. It had to be sent back to the US, at some expense to him, though it was out of warranty so he didn’t put up a fight. I believe it got sorted, though I’m not sure.

I contemplated one as something a little more usable than my behemoth of a UV26, but there’s no chance I’d risk it now.

I have a friend who has warranty problems today Dive X have accepted as warranty but are requesting that he cover postage costs both ways. That's about $800 round trip.

If it's an admitted manufacturer defect covered by warranty, they should cover postage costs.

oh wow what a shame ! It does state however on the website that shipping is at the cost of the customer. That guy on youtube (dive vibe) should talk about all the problems with dive X.
 
$800 in shipping for something I can travel with would have me pricing airfare and hotel and seeing if the manufacturer would be down to schedule a repair window... (Especially if they let me watch the process and learn...)

That would require good customer service, which Dive Xtras isn't exactly known for.
