FWNurseshark:
I went last Friday- the "north" end I believe had the best vis. You couldn't see the shark. This was Friday during the day before there was a crowd. Roll call just before going is a good idea. Is there anyone coming from Ft Worth?

I have observed the bad vis conditions on numerous Fridays as well. I won't offer up any theories about the bad vis. The fish stirring it up sounds good to me. In my opinion, I am afraid that this is going to be the nominal visibility at CSSP for the forseeable future.

In general, I have observed that the visibility always tends to be better over by the plane. It always tends to be worse to even outright crappy vis. at the shark.

FWNurseshark, I will be travelling from south Arlington.

Finally got the link - as I mentioned before International Scuba in Carrollton is launching a new dive club, Zero Gravity Divers - they're having a BBQ on the 27th along with specials on DPV and PPB certifications if anyone is interested. I'm currently in my DM program there, so I'll be there for our Meet n Greet on Saturday, and there on Sunday for the BBQ and dive club kickoff.

So whom is 'heading up' this gathering.....and is there a list of those attending,,,,,I am getting on this thread sorta as a late comer,,,,just curious..?? :)

Organization? We don' need no steeenkin' organization! ;-)

In all serious tho.. would should probably figure out who's got a grill they can bring.. maybe have some volunteers for some brats, buns, condiments, chips, etc... oh yeah, and a few cold beers.....

Well, I guess we have two ways we can do this.. have a lunchtime grill around 12:30ish - (sans beer of course) and maybe get a dive in together, or wait till the end of the day, and have a few brews after the last dive... (for me I'm usually dived out by 4-5pm or so... especially since I usually get there around 9am)

Or do both and just mingle with people as they come around.... any thoughts?

D.,,, I am good for your idea of an evening BBQ (but can go either way). My grill is non portable.....but would be happy to bring some brats/dogs/buns/sodas.

I have a Weber Q portable grill I could bring... it does a great job as long as it isn't windy out.

There isn't really anyone running the show, we're going for that organized chaos feel . I like D's idea of an evening BBQ, that way we can break out the beer for those not going back in. I will also be grilling brats at lunch and I'm sure others will be. I will have my grill with me and anyone who wants to use it is welcome to do so. It can accomodate at least 10 brats at a time and I will be sure to bring extra propane.

Here is a list of people who have expressed an interest in coming, note not all have said they are actually coming.

And since we haven't really asked for a roll call I'm sure many others will pop up closer to the date and some will probably have to cancel.
