$54.95 AU? Definitely not cheap. I own 8 tanks, I can really see me spending $400 on pretty sleeves for them, LOL.

They look good, but if you're gonna go that route, why bother with painted tanks? You're just covering up the paint & the cover has to come off for VIP & hydros.

Brighter color tanks can be a great way to identify a specific diver and also
show up better if a buddy is wandering off. I specifically chose different
colors as I bought my first three aluminum tanks. It's easier to keep track
of which tank you've used or need to have checked or whatever. My fourth
is a HP steel which I had no choice in color. Nothing wrong with any color you may
want for your own tank.

But pink? One has to draw the line somewhere. While I'm quite comfortable in my own masculinity, even if I won a Mary Kay contest and was, recognized for Oustanding Regional Director of the Year (fingers crossed, hope, hope) and was given a pair of pink tanks, I just don't think I'd wear them....I mean use them.
Give me a free pair of pink tanks , i'll band them and slap a "pink is the new black" decal on them. Free pink t shirt , i'll probably pass , free tanks hmm I'm game.

 I like the way you think, terrasmak :D

Colors are good, personal preferences are just that ... dive what you like

... Although I like my bright yellow tank, you will find yourself being abnormally careful with your tanks if they're painted

Wonder what that guy in the shop has to say about that?

I don't. That would give value to his opinion....

my aluminum tank is bright yellow - i picked it for safety. i have a pressed steel that is not painted, because i think it is hard to paint

I don't know if you have seen these "suits" for your tank, just as a different option - check out http://my1.bizshop.com.au/diveitch/ - I have just bought one with my own print and it looks fantastic, colourful and original.

Dazzavv? where are the skins you wanted to post in that link of yours? All i see is the back of that topless blonde.:eyebrow:

Different colors are for different gas blends. Green for Nitrox, white for air, red for pepper spray...
In parts (soon all??) of europe tanks ARE color coded, by regulation. Some places even have valves that are not compatible for different mixes.

If i remember correctly... air and nitrox ave a rust red body, an black and white (quarters) upper end. Very spefically defined.

Bloody Hell! Is this debate still going on?

Jesus Chimeny! Shoot, how many of y'all even look at y'all's tank let alone someone elses?

Shoot, give me a pink tank, rainbow tank, or an upside down triangle and I will use it Loud and say It Proud......"I use the gas from this tank". Blooody Hell, those asshats are tards, thinking candy red means gay. They got issues, too.

Drop it and Buy whatever color tank you want.

I cannot believe in this day and age we are debating the insinuatiuons of the color of a blooody scuba tank.

Lodge a freaking combat booot up their arse the next time they get smart with ya. They probably only have 12 dives between the two of them. And you value what they got to say because of what, pray tell?
