I second the Sherwood Blizzard or Maximus, just my 2 cents. Also, both have been around for a bit and I know more than a few divers who use one or the other for ice diving the cold climes up here. (Then again we're all friends so of course we use similar regs. ) :D

I have 2 Oceanic Delta IV FDX10 same as the Delta 4.1 these are great environmentally sealed regs.
Don't even consider a reg as a cold water reg unless it has an environmentally sealed first stage.

apeks...they are sweet... buy mine for cheap.. plug!
dst first, tx-50 2nd, inflator hose, and oceanic spg for 150+shipping then get ur own octo

good luck!

I've used my Scubapro MK25/S600 in 42 degree water (sometimes 30 degree outside) many times.

I just used my MK25/S600 in 39deg water off the shore of CT, USA.

Greetings Ted and welcome to Scuba Board! I have personally used Apeks DS4 XTX 50's in very cold water "ICE" and also the Oceanic FDX10 Delta 4 / CDX 5 GT250 and Delta 3. Any of these regulators in the environmentally sealed versions would serve you well.
These are the reg's I have used and that are my choice that is all. It really is a matter of personal choice. Make sure that the warrantee is in place and how it works before you buy a package. It would be worth it to rent possibly before you buy to give them a test drive at a local pool or dive destination. I have tested Aqua Lung Legends and they were great but really close to the Apeks. Actually the same in many ways.
I hope this helps and if I can further assist you by all means PM me.
CamG Keep diving....keep training....keep learning!
