LeeAnne...I fell in LOVE with those lemon bars everytime you bring those...so of course it's in the top 10 romantic spots in the world...because it's the only place I get your lemon bars. :)

Dr. Bill, are there still any celebrities milling about there or have they all gone jetting to the south Pacific?

Thanks for the positive words about "my" island.

I assume you are referring to celebrities besides me (tee hee). We do still get some. Lisa Marie Presley threw Nicholas Cage's diamond ring off his boat when moored here. I'm still looking for it to finance my research. Barbra Streisand occasionally rents the entire Inn on Mt. Ada (the former Wrigley home). I've seen Arnold Schwarzneggar and Maria Schreiver walking around Avalon. And, of course, we have resident celebrities like the actor Ted Cassidy who played Lurch on the Addams Family TV show. He and I were in the same aisle at Vons yesterday.

Undoubtedly there are a number of others but we tend not to acknowledge celebrities who visit and just let them enjoy the island. Then there are others who come in disguise (including those without their movie or TV makeup),

Excuse me, do you know where I to find the Grey Poupon ?

Catalina is indeed a magical place. I've yet to visit there without having a great time.

AWWWWE!!! :kiss2::blush:

I can totally see Catalina as a lover's paradise - EXCEPT when the big cruise ships disgorge their thousands of overstuffed, sunburned, Bermuda-shorts-and-socks-wearing passengers into Avalon. On those days it's just not a lot of fun to be there. We used to take our sailboat to Avalon pretty regularly, and on cruise-ship days we'd just stay on the boat.

Dr. Bill - any woman who would let a little ferry ride dissuade her from a promising romance is not worthy of your time anyway. ;)

Unfortunately, LeeAnne, it isn't "any" woman but every woman!

I love going to Catalina, and it happens to have one of my most favorite dive sites.
And, Dr Bill is Catalina's unofficial Ambassador of Good Will and a most gracious host :)

A bunch of rich middle-aged businessmen taking their barely-legal girlfriends to the island so they can get laid is what passes for romance these days?!?
