this person dose not have a shop just a 99.8 rating i think he has sold over 150 dive products this includes regs, wetsuits and computers

I have bought 3 Aeris computers with no problems
Video projector
3 laptops new in box
endless pool swim in place swimming pool
and more with no problems
The key is to look at his rating and then look at what he has sold.
If he has sold 500 $1.00 items and is now selling high priced items my red flag would go up.
Pay with paypal and they will go bat for you if there is a problem.

Three second internet search shows the Gekko to have user replaceable batteries. Even if they were dead, the OP would be out $5. Not an issue.

Others who read this thread may be looking at a computer without user replaceable batteries or may assume all computers have user replaceable batteries. Many times you see on Ebay people saying the computer just needs a new battery. I am trying save other Newbies an expensive lesson. They always need to contact the seller about battery life, if they cannot swap out the batteries themselves. I apologize if my post annoyed you.

I bought almost all of my gear brand-new at my LDS, but I bought my computer used on ebay: Aeris Atmos AI. I have zero regrets -- the computer was slightly used, exactly as advertised, and from a seller with good scuba feedback. I've used it on a dozen dives so far without a problem other than changing the battery (which is a snap on the Aeris computers). For half the price of a new Atmos AI, this was a no-brainer. I'm fully aware it is out of warranty, and it was an acceptable risk for me. One tip: be careful about which brands you will buy used on ebay -- a user-changeable battery seems to be a must-have feature on a used computer.

I wish I had your guys luck. If I buy it it will be squashed in transit and come to me in pieces.

Um, shipping insurance? Not an issue wrt Ebay, just with shipping... Just never buy anything online and you should be fine!

I would check the sellers feedback, go through what they have sold, and make the best decision possible. When you see something you like, do a Google search, go to the manufacturer's website and see if it is current or discontinued. Leisure Pro is not an authorized dealer or dive computers but they do have their own personal warranty. Lots of people have had very successful dealings with them. Shop around.

I just purchased a brand new Aeris Atmos 2 computer from www.scubatoys.com with full mfg warranty. The sale price on ST is $224 and some change minus the 10% discount for being a scuba board member comes to $202.46 before shipping. I purchased a bunch of other stuff and my shipping was $9.38 for the whole order.

The have some other deals going on air intergrated stuff, but for now a good air/nitrox computer is all I need.

For me personally, I like to find good deals and purchase new. I take care of my stuff and it lasts a long time.

Tell them that Leah from SB sent you. They are starting to get to know me. I jokingly named them Joe and Larry, the magic scuba fairies a couple of weeks ago. Seriously, they have always treated me right. I had another order ship out today and they made a mistake on my bill under charging me for a small item. I talked to Joe to let him know of the error and he said my bill stands as is. They made a mistake, so consider it a gift. I feel kind of bad about it because I got such a great deal orders I have placed in the last couple of weeks. However, I don't feel bad enough that I rejected his kindness.
