We used to dive a spring fed hole for practice down to the grate at 80 feet. We'd take eggs down to break and play with the yolks with no problem as the tiny air pocket inside wasn't enough to matter at that depth. A plastic beverage bottle filled with air would crush well tho.Easy enough to test.
On deco dives we usually carry some packet drinks to consume for long 6m stops, plus a banana or Mars Bar.
