Make sure that your D-rings are not the kind that lie flat on your webing. Use a loop of bungie cord underneath your left shoulder D-ring to put your inflator through.

One Idea , some play with, is to stack one wing on top of another for redudency,
gets mixed reviews.

The thingamabobs are great for disassembling the BP/W for packing, but they're not great when the DM on the boat keeps trying to pick the rig up by the wing and pulling them out. I lost count of the number of times I said, "Don't pick it up by the wing, pick it up by the straps," and then put the thingamabobs back in the holes.

Funny, I've had to learn the same lesson on my DSS wing. Don't pick it up by the wing, pick it up by the straps. In my case I was moving it around by the wing to get it where I wanted and sometimes it would come undone. I like them however and will not replace it. It's pretty nice to detach it so quickly and do what you want, then hook it back up and once the tank is on it's not going anywhere no matter how you abuse it.

My only mod was XS Scuba pockets on the belt and on the tank straps for additional weighting. The tank straps will go away this weekend I hope, should be getting my steel HP 120 and converting the reg to a 300 bar din config, so the weights on the straps will not be needed.

That's a good mod though.

Honestly, oral inflation with the inflator hose as short as it is on the DSS rig is pretty tricky for me anyway.
That's why I replaced mine with a corrugated hose that's 3 inches longer. Just wasn't too comfortable with it. Also like the rubber dohickeys. Might get extra in case I lose one.

Humuhumunukunukuapua'a:
Does that pose problems with oral inflation?

Honestly havnt tried to orally inflate it...will give it a shot next time I'm down. I dont see it being a problem though.

Definitely true. Mine came apart due to DM handling a bunch of times.

What are these "thingsmibobs" you guys are talking about?

They're these little rubber...pegs, I guess. They hold the wing on the plate and make it very easy to swap a wing on and off. Like less than a minute with no tools.

They basically hold the wing in place while you get the tank cinched to the plate, thus pinning the wing down completely.

They work great and hold the wing well unless you lift the rig by the wing. Then the weight of the plate can cause it to pull free of the wing. It pretty much stays attached because of the tank straps, but you should handle it with the shoulder straps to avoid that.

People keep telling me to switch the sex bolts to black zip ties. (halcyon eclipse)
I hate to admit this, but my inflator has been problematic, fixed and still leaks. I have been diving with it disconnected and orally inflating for a year now.I think I actually like this method better, takes so little. Just seems so much more precise. I dive with 4#'s. I may ditch the crotch strap although that D-ring is one more place to clip something like a marker. I end up needing places because my hands are full with the camera. Not sure if it is correct but my little tiny knife holds the longhose loop.
