Damn that sucks. Invading the space of the sea's denizens comes with various risks we know, and we try to manage them safely, but the exceptional accidents can happen now and then. Best wishes to the injured Instructor.
 
I don't want to invade this instructor's privacy, but are there any sort of particulars of this case? I see many more barracuda when I dive and I have seen them opening their jaws - I backed off, and changing color - like getting darker - we all backed off. I worry much more about them attacking than sharks. Can we get more of the story?

I doubt that this Inst did anything to provoke the attack. Maybe, but I doubt it. I'm sure he knew, but we all need to appreciate: never tease them, never feed them, never approach the, etc.

Lightening strikes of people are very uncommon, but caca happens in life.
