I am headed down to the blue hole (the one in Santa Rosa, NM) with at least two other Oysters on the last weekend of the month. (4-25 thru 4-27)

One of them has a niece taking an AOW class with a local shop, so there will be plenty of os headed down that weekend.

Anyone else thinking yes on that weekend? I am there for sure.
I was hoping to get in a couple of dives on Friday. depending on arrival times, etc.

I have 2 tanks I am bringing with me, so hopefully there will be air fills!

I was hoping to practice some drills and stuff. I need to figure out how to deploy my smb as a safety stop line and some other junk.

Cheers,

Justin

If you want to score BIG POINTS with Stella stop over at the Comet and pick her up a large Ice Tea They put some flavoring in there that she loves.

Dude, you rock! Never knew that, thanks for the "tip"

No current bushes near the Blue Hole? :rofl3:

That would be quite a compressor if you can fill 7 tanks in an hour! :11:

I doubt that 220, single phase (a dryer connection) would drive that big of a compressor. But, you don't really have to fill them in an hour either.

Let's hope that Stella will be back in business with her compressor soon. Hopefully, the city planned this out, and the power has been restored (or switched) to her hot dog stand by now. Were they going to physically move the compressor too? Or just the insides of the shop?

Its a small compressor. It will fill 3 or 4 tanks an hour depending how low the psi is in each tank beforehand. If we have 8 or 9 tanks, we can just refill in the evening.

I currently have it plugged into a 220 in my garage.

Obviously, the best scenario is for Stella to be back in business!:D

I hope to make it out on the 20th. I have been out of commission for the last 3-4 weeks with some nasty chest congestion and didn't want to risk diving until I was completely better. Hopefully I will see you out there.

Well, it looks like the Beach Bunny and I are looking at doing the aquarium swim with the fishes the first weekend of May and then I am headed to Bonaire May 10-17. That last weekend is also the big A1 tent sale..

If you would rather go to the A1 event, I'll take your place in Bonaire :eyebrow:

So is Stella's compressor running now, anyone know? She has such a marginal setup but could have a good one. Too bad this tiny tourist supported town lacks the insight to work with her more closely.

I just phoned but I guess she's at her day job.
Ron,
Let me know what works for you. I'm about ready to get some diving in for fun. BTW, I have a compressor and 7 tanks, so we can still be in business if Stella isn't. Just need to find a 220 outlet that someone will let us use. Maybe we can get in tight with the maids at the hotel and have them unplug the dryer for an hour or so.
What does Stella's run on? 440? If she has 220 outside the shed and is not running, I bet you could get permission to park close to it? Oh maybe not; it is Santa Rosa.
I've found the Blue Hole to be one of the most overrated dives spots in the world. Belize in general is marginal diving at best. Not much in the way of fish, just sponges. Dive Master's on Peter Hugh's boat wouldn't even get into the water. I figured out after 1st dive, nothing to see. Boat stayed there for a second dive, then moved, same story, no dive-masters, just boring dive spot if there is such a thing. Want some real fun and less hassle, check Stewart Coves's in the Bahamas. J.C.
Welcome to the Rocky Mountain forum. San Antonio Texas has a Blue Hole too; it's not dived, but you could still poke fun at the Belize Blue Hole on the Texas forum as well. :lol2: Well, Fiji and the Bahamas have one, and there are many others. You could take this to a new campaign. :D

The weekend of April 26th is looking like a strong possibility for some Denverites to make the trip down.

So far there is interest from at least three locals in Denver, and one Ski Bum in Taos! :D

I'll start a new thread shortly if this is going to pan out. I understand, not the standard 3rd weekend, but I'll PM Kevin as well, and see if he feels like moving his date to make it more of a PART-I dive atmosphere! :D

I think I might be up for that weekend too, but both LDS's here are going to be down there too. Sounds like there might be a lot of divers that weekend. Of course, I have no idea how many divers the dive shops are bringing, just that several shops will be there.
