The Koa grill house is now called.....Can't rember but the food is very good and it's one of the best deals in Waimea. Parker Ranch grill is good but way over priced.

PS, yes Anthonys in in the Waikoloa center, next to the bank. Live music on weekends. Get a pizza to go. Sweeties is my favorite.

Thanks I ate at Koa House when it was still Koa House and then again the last time i was there when it was under new management (and it was not as good).
We got pizza and watched a playoff game (really early in the morning) at anthony's the first time I was there (good pizza). We ate at the country club last time I was there, and it was only for lunch (not bad either). Roy's is too expensive, so we won't go there. Maybe somewhere else? Any other ideas for good food (and maybe a good view)? How about some good places for lunch or breakfast in Kona???

I never found a good or even decent breakfast spot on the big isle unless you like brown gravy over eggs rice and hamburger. Take advantage of the farmers markets and enjoy the fresh island fruit. Cheap and good for ya!

Best breakfast on the west side is at the Hawaiian Style Cafe up in Waimea. Not fancy, just very good, huge and cheap. Apparently they are changing hands soon, hopefully the new owners will keep it the same. Now that Sam Choy's is gone, apparently one of the best breakfasts is Bubba Gumps believe it or not. In south Kona, the Coffee Shack deli is renowned for it's breakfasts but I was never overly thrilled. Aloha Angel Cafe in south Kona is also good. Sad to say, Wildcard is pretty much right on when it comes to breakfasts here, it's almost like Denny's is right up there with the best.

Apparently the Koa House Grill is now the Waimea Ranch House and contrary to what I said earlier it does get good reviews, I'll have to try it out.

If you want some non-diving opinions of restaurants and virtually everything else in Kona, check out www.konaweb.com and head directly to the bottom of the main page and find their forum links. It's the busiest Kona related forum on the internet.

I think we might make it. I've got to double check with Gene and make sure he doesn't already have something planned for us.
I actually don't think we will make it to dinner. But we did make reservations for 9/2 with Pacific Rim. So I guess we'll see you then!

Waimea Ranch House! Thats it. The duck is fantastic!
Dennys? NEVER eat at a place that is open 24/7. They can't shut down and clean, ever! I know, I worked at one as a cook while going to school long ago. I'll never eat at any 24 hour place again.

You know what they say about opinions?

Anyway, I did four dives with Kona Coast Divers and they did a great job. Their boat is right next to the shop at the small boat harbor, so it's closer to Waikoloa than Kona. And they will lug/set up your gear for you! Very experienced divemaster and skipper. Whoever you choose, you MUST do the night Manta dive. That was probably the coolest experience of my life. Oh yeah... we only had 8 people on our boat for all four dives!
