We are staying in Waikoloa on the Kohala coast. I am getting certified as we speak and my new Hubbie is AOW. Last time we were in Hawaii he dove with Pacific Rim Divers and loved it. We have been in touch with them and they still have some space available, we are just trying to get the dates figured out now. We are thinking morning dive on 9/2, manta dive on 9/3, and two more morning dives on 9/5 and 9/6. (some of the smaller operators don't dive on Sunday). Let me know if you want any info about the island or want to get together for a dive.

When I was in Kona last year, I used Dive Makai and they were very good.
z28, I'm staying in a 'Deluxe Ocean View" room at the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort Sat-Thurs. I've read very mixed reviews so I'm hoping that since we booked one of the better room categories that it will be ok. We're diving with Konaquatica. I'll let you know how it is when we get back.
SoCal, yes, Konaquatica is pretty new, but if my understanding is correct, the people running it are not new to the island. Since we're only there for 6 days I've only booked 3 dive trips - 2 morning and 1 night. Wish we could do more, but it's just too far to travel from NY to not see the island topside as well.

I have never stayed at that hotel so I don't know, but to me I am only sleeping there so I don't care as long as it is clean. I hope things are going well in preparation for your wedding, we just got married a few months ago and the stress was unbelievable the last few weeks. Have a great time if I don't hear from you before you leave.

My girlfriend and I will be there Sept 1-7 staying in the Waikoloa resort area. We haven't decided on a dive operation yet, but we do plan on doing a few shore dives and a Manta Ray dive.
We would be interested an impromptu ScubaBoard meeting. Dinner, diving or whatever would work sounds good.
