Amen, Rohan!

I'd go, but then I've been to places before when bombings occured at places I frequented.
I little disturbing, but so are vehicle accidents.

You may enjoy yourself better as there will likely be fewer tourists, except for those who aren't detered by hysteria.

You might also check the BB at Lonely Planet for current conditions.

I'm going in October myself.... ;)

Really Mike? You should have a photo course there...:D

I can attest to the local transport being probably the most dangerous thing in any particular location. Just got back from Cambodia and PI, an dI now have a new idea of what "crazy drivers" are :)

I think people worry about terrorism way too much. count how many people die in terrorist related acts, and then count the number of motor vehicle fatalities in your home country. then tell me how dangerous it is to travel to Bali :)

All graduates from the Ya Ba school of driving ;)

Diver Dennis:
Good point Z. Mexico City and Manila are another couple of places drivers really are crazy.

Yeah, I had to adopt the "just walk" rule when crossing roads. No point looking because you will not find a gap. You have to just walk and make yourself believe you are Jesus, and with any luck, the local drivers will believe it too and avoid you...

I'm still here, so it's worked so far :)

I'll get on it!

I did travel for a month in Bali back in the day... and like Tassie could consider myself a "fun lovin drinkin backpacker!" had a blast. The only thing annoying was all the touts trying to sell you goods in Kuta.. Get out of Kuta and its a whole different atmosphere as Jeff states. Except the taxi drivers... they a pain all over..

Driving there is easy - just remember to substitute hitting the horn for any time you have an urge to brake or change gears.
