I still think it is a nothing burger, the $25M loan was from within the Barings family of banks so they are not going to take action that jeopardizes the value of the asset. Hopefully someone will come along with deep pockets and buy Apeks, wonder how much it would take, maybe $60-70M after winning the lottery.

One problem that I do see, however, is AL trying to squeeze every single penny out of Apeks and pricing them out of the market.
Apeks wasn't the cheapest to begin with and, as far as I can tell, are going up in price more than market average.

I was under the impression that AL gone busted.
But they just presented this:

That is ... interesting. Trying to keep an open mind, but do I really want electronics integrated into my regulator? But it is a sign that they are at least attempting to be innovative. Time will tell if it is the next big thing or a resounding dud.

Paying $60-70M (~£48m-56m) for a company with a book value of £6.67m and currently losing £1.4m/year (per most recently available financials)....... would be a profoundly poor business decision.

I really appreciate you sharing that too. I'm not sure anyone is asking for those specific features, and as much as I like me some apeks/al products, I wouldn't want to be walled into their brand for an entire kit. It is cool to see some attempts at innovation beyond the material the first stage is machined from.

So many questions - what's up with that hose? Is that really like 1 inch diameter braided? Does it have leads in it connecting something electronic from the 2nd stage to the first? Is this just a Legend with a sonar-based AI pressure gauge jambed into a regulator shroud the size of a coke can?

Between this unholy electronic kit combo and the new regs that Apeks announced at DEMA, maybe they'll rise from the ashes by getting some of the "I want the latest gizmo" sales from sport divers with more dollars than sense.

Thanks, interesting, I have many questions. Wish there was a manual available.

Yikes the press on that thing is terrible. What does it actually do? It looks like a solution to no problem. How does it help the seas breathe easier?
