I was under the impression that AL gone busted.
But they just presented this:

That is ... interesting. Trying to keep an open mind, but do I really want electronics integrated into my regulator? But it is a sign that they are at least attempting to be innovative. Time will tell if it is the next big thing or a resounding dud.

Hopefully someone will come along with deep pockets and buy Apeks, wonder how much it would take, maybe $60-70M after winning the lottery.

Paying $60-70M (~£48m-56m) for a company with a book value of £6.67m and currently losing £1.4m/year (per most recently available financials)....... would be a profoundly poor business decision.

I really appreciate you sharing that too. I'm not sure anyone is asking for those specific features, and as much as I like me some apeks/al products, I wouldn't want to be walled into their brand for an entire kit. It is cool to see some attempts at innovation beyond the material the first stage is machined from.

So many questions - what's up with that hose? Is that really like 1 inch diameter braided? Does it have leads in it connecting something electronic from the 2nd stage to the first? Is this just a Legend with a sonar-based AI pressure gauge jambed into a regulator shroud the size of a coke can?

Between this unholy electronic kit combo and the new regs that Apeks announced at DEMA, maybe they'll rise from the ashes by getting some of the "I want the latest gizmo" sales from sport divers with more dollars than sense.

Thanks, interesting, I have many questions. Wish there was a manual available.

Yikes the press on that thing is terrible. What does it actually do? It looks like a solution to no problem. How does it help the seas breathe easier?

The book value and the market value of the assets can be drastically different on a distressed company. The real value is in the designs and brand name, as well as any tangible assets such as plant & equipment. Someone was willing to float a $25M loan based on the assets so there is some value.

Heck. I think we should clear up the players in this before we all go off at a tangent.
Aqualung America Inc is you lot.
Aqualung International is my lot who own Apeks Marine
and The Aqualung Group is the French lot who started this sorry mess and ran up with this new gift offering to detract you lot with the colourfully conjured beads for the natives and the shiny Pdf of a regulator.

And just for you lot in order to keep the peace maybe I should write an American version and have spelt color. Just so we understand each other and can all sing from the same hymn sheet.
