I was taking a walk around the Shelter Island Yacht Basin this afternoon, and came across this boat in what I assume is an unintended parking spot. If the drivers intention was to tie the bow off to the tree, then I'd say he's a better driver than me. On the other hand, if he planned on anchoring someplace, this probably wasn't his first choice. Judging by the canyon he left behind his boat, this was probably close to a full throttle operation. :)

Were there a lot of empties laying around on the deck?

Perhaps he has watched one too many James Bond movies and thought he could clear the building? :D

He was probably looking for a new dive spot.

Now THATS! cutting edge scubaboard entertainment......THANKS!!!!!

Is that what they call dry-dock?

Let's see, wreck your boat, wait for high tide, then dive your wreck. I think you're on to something here!:D

I figured he was going to careen the boat to save on haul-out fees.

All the curtains are pulled. I bet he (or she) is inside waiting for dark to sneek out and make a clean getaway.
