Well, it is 2020, so no surprise. Someone has to have bad luck, and I guess it was my turn.

I finally tracked both of my bags to the Lubbock airport Tuesday night, then got an email from Wheresmybag.com saying that they had One of them to go out on delivery. I replied that they needed to deliver two bags and requested a phone call with an estimated time, but crickets. I waited, then at 1 pm called the AA bag specialist who said he had phone numbers for that delivery company, would look into it and let me know. Waiting. I need to make a half day shopping run tomorrow. And then Wheresmybag customer service emailed me with a phone number to the driver - Yay! She's on the other side of Lubbock somewhere, thinks she can pickup the bags at 5 pm, promised to try to get both, and call me with an ETA. Progress!

My ticket refund has been requested. The bag fees went thru on my card and I do not see how to request that refund on their site so I disputed those. I'd already paid Mary Carmen for two nights, and tried my best to cancel before arrival time explaining the problem, but they are trying to charge me for two more nights. It's good that I am a bored old retired coot with time to deal with all of this.
 
I would demand my room fee back...its not like u didn't give it your best. If they don't, cross them off future lodging!

Yay! Two & a half days and several calls and bags are home. My home phone & Internet are down again so I may as well unpack. Nothing to wash.

Yeah, that does seem cheesy. I may dispute the charge, or complain to Hotels.com as they're good about apology discounts. Or file on my trip insurance.

Which hotel?
Mary Carmen. I've always been happy with them and their cheap rates. I am surprised. It's not much money tho. I may just go along with it.

Yeah, it looks like TS-14 is arriving Saturday. I'll be spending my birthday with family for a change.

I got a nice phone call from my American Bags Specialist, just wanting to confirm that I got y bags ok last night.
 
I'm glad that Marco veered off from a hit. No diving on my birthday still, but oh well.

It's been a week and my ticket refund request is still in the que for review. The record looks screwy now and may need some follow up, and I want my $70 back on luggage fees.

Mary Carmen is quick to deny my requests that they not charge me, but slow to send me a receipt so I can claim those loses on trip insurance. Time will tell I suppose.

I’m pretty shocked the hotel kept your money - sad really. You’ve stayed there before, come at least once a year - bad business on their part..... I know you want to help them out and all but even in this tough time, that can just shoot them in the foot...
