The problem with implants is that they are multistage processes requiring many visits. Tooth removal; Inserting the “bone” substitute; inserting the post and the creating and placing of a crown. Total time from start to finish can take over a year with about 6 visits. The crown is usually done by a dentist while the implant by an oral surgeon. Many potential complications which could require an emergency trip. This is difficult to do as a dental-tourist.

DD, if you are referring to Dr Alejandra Novoa Carus @ Cozumel Dentist, she is not only an excellent Dentist but also a very nice person and a diver. She has come in during the evening and fitted crowns for me so I would not loose a dive day. Never had any problems with hers crowns, top quality zirconium.

That is correct. I am sure your Dentist is very good. Cozumel is unique, the professional trades are very good or they would not last on the island. It's an island, not a border town

True, altho I have known many who traveled to El Paso and Del Rio to cross the border for dental work.

I will agree but without a recommendation you just don't know. May be a great professional or a resently deported landscape specialist. That's what makes it critical for referrals from a trusted source.

American emailed me an offer today. They suggested that my flights are very full and asked if I would like to leave at 4-something in the afternoon instead of my 8:30 departure, then arrive at 9-something that evening in CANCUN! Gawd, why would anyone even consider such? What was their reason for trying to offer such a poor choice?

In other news, I see that the airline is threatening to discontinue service to 30 smaller cities when their bailout funded agreement expires. I wonder if Lubbock or Amarillo will get chopped?

If they offer you travel credit/ETC one thing to consider is using it for a paid extra seat on another day and making sure you don’t have someone sitting next to you I generally believe high airflow and HEPA filters reduce risk a lot , but if you are shoulder to shoulder with someone clearly risk is still there

Travel is such an adventure!

Ok, scratch that plan to leave the house at 5 am. I have my bags all loaded in the car to leave before sunup for my 8:23 am flight out of Lubbock, and then - I get an alert on my phone that my departure flight is canceled! I saw that big storm blow by east of us on the radar, and now it seems that it's grounded planes in DFW, including the one that was to turn around overnight for my flight.

With so few choices and options, I've had to rebook from/to Amarillo. I still have the same flight DFW to Cozumel and same Cancun to DFW, but different start & finish. Now to find a good parking service in Amarillo.
