Hello all,

I'm looking for my first computer. I'm also looking at non-integrated units, but for now I'm thinking along the lines of hose-connected air integrated units.

I like what I've seen from both of these computers. LeisurePro has the Aeris at a hundred bucks cheaper for equivalent products - with compass and quick-connect included. Is there anything particular about the features or operation of these two computers that makes the ProPlus worth so much more? It looks like its display is a touch larger, but the Aeris seems to have a generously-sized display as well. Plus I kind of like the looks of the Aeris a bit more.

But as far as features, user-friendliness, display layout, etc., anyone have any preferences?

Thanks

Outside of the case shape and the size of the display, they're exactly the same.

Both made by the same company anyway.

That is not correct; the Pro Plus 2 has one extra bar graph (ATR)

Splitting a hair there, aren't you?

The Aeris has an ATR readout as well, it's just not a bar graph. The Aeris shows which item is most critical at the time.

At any rate, BOTH computers are Air Integrated and are manufactured by the same company. The user manuals are almost interchangeable. The Aeris is a bit smaller, the Pro Plus has a huge, easy-to-read display.

You really can't go wrong with either of them.

Sorry .. I didn't mean to.
But - splitting a hair - becomes an habit when for leaving we do reverse engineer dive computers and put them in our simulators

I agree with you on this one.

Yea, understood on the engineering thing.

The only TINY complaint I have about these computers is the quick-disconnect. It's almost too easy. I was with a group in Bonaire and one of our divers got off the boat and her Atmos AI bumped the side of the boat and popped off of the quick-disconnect. She didn't even notice and luckily another diver found it under a bench and turned it into the dive shop.

Not really a big deal anymore. She changed her SOP to remove the computer and keep it in her dry-bag at the end of the day.

I used a Pro Plus for years and eventually switched it out for a VT3. I suppose the wrist-mount is nice but I sure miss that big, gorgeous display on the Pro Plus...
