44F in Florida???? It was over 60F here in Denver last weekend. Maybe I should reconsider this "warm" weather vacation. Of course, visiting my folks is never really a vacation

I'm bringing my 7mm. It's either that or my shorty 3 mm that makes me look like Boy Wonder (silver and burnt orange). I'll be plenty warm in the 7 mm and nobody will make superhero jokes.

I dive dry in FL from November until May. I wear a trilam with light Under Armor underneath. It's about the same warmth as a 5mm, but much more comfortable. On a three dive day, it's a real treat, since my core temp stays up. Everyone laughs until they try it. I don't see anything macho in mild symptoms of hypothermia, so bring the 7mm and be comfortable. :) The 3mm might not be enough for 3 dives in a row.

yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm thinking I need to dive dry

I am diving in my 3mm, or perhaps just a full skin. No hood a pair of reef gloves

I have a two-piece 3 mm or a 1 piece 3 mm that fits a 5'8", 170lb trim male. I also have a 1mm hood, extra gloves and size 8 boots. Anyone traveling in is more than welcome to borrow them.

ROTFLMAO! So true!
KBeck:
This event will most definitely require a picture...everything from drysuits, 7 or 5mm and hoods to skins and bathing suits.......I'll have to bring hot chocolate for half of us and ice water for the other half!!!!

I want a copy of that pic......I asked a friend who runs a charter in Miami in regards to pack my 7mm... I think he is still laughing.

Did he laugh when you told him that you were doing 3 dives and your only other choice was a 3mm with no hood? Just curious, because I see a lot of divers come down thinking they won't get cold and they shiver between dives, suck a lot of air on the 2nd and 3rd dives if they make it to the 3rd, and say they wish they had a 5mm. The outside temp will be well below your body temp on these dives and the breeze has been steady for the month. If you dive a 3mm, I recommend taking it off between dives and throughing on a fleece jacket.
