If you dive a 3mm, I recommend taking it off between dives and throughing on a fleece jacket.
Bring some sweats so you can take everything wet, off. That's my plan. I can usually be changed and geared up in 10 minutes and it sure does beat freezing.

Hey Krista, how many thermos do you have? I have one I was going to put hot tea in one (I'm not a big fan of sweet drinks). I can probably grab another one from my mother so we can have enough warm fluids. Call me (772-398-6091 hm) when you get a chance so we can figure it out, it's probably a heck of a lot easier for us to bring it seeing how we're local. I'll have to double check, but I think I even still have cups.

By the time this dive rolls around, the weather will warm up. I do have a oneil shorty in fla, so I could always wear it. I only have a 5 mm hood and I think that it will be a little too heavy. I will try to get a core unit for my suit tomorrow

Adrisen,

I'm asking you as you tend to dive in places where ice is found outside of freezers....

When I was at DEMA in 2002 and 2003, there was a guy there selling a heat pack that was designed to go around your waist. You pressed a button type thing (more like a disk) and the solution turned from translucent to a frosty opaque. It kept warm for a couple of hours. To recharge it, you place it into a microwave oven for a few minutes. Do you know of the device I'm talking about? I dive in California a couple of times a year and would think it would be pretty nifty, but can't find it on the web. Thanks,

Lee

Hi Lee I tried to get some info on what you are looking for but had no luck. I think I have something similar here at home. Knowing that I will pack one in my bag and bring it to you for the meet and greet.

Hey guys,
I'm late to this post, but the reading was great. All I meed is a nice cup of coffee (oops, got that) and a bag of popcorn. I quess I will be in trouble as the cold weather goes. I only have a 3mm full suit. I have a hood, but it is really uncomfortable. It was one of those cheapos. I quess I will have to just freeze. Ya'll can just laugh at me in between dives. My wifee is at Diver's Direct right now. Maybe she will pick me up something. I can't wait to meet everyone on the 19th and dive with the others on the 29th.

I think this is the first time I will be able to accually attend all the SB events without missing one. It will be nice. :beerchug:

Pony up and get the hood! I JUST got back from Blue Planet and got a Henderson Hyper Strech 3/2mm.

This is one piece of gear that I will be happy to leave in the closet to collect dust but I am afraid it will get used quite a bit.

The hood might filter out some of the nasty little swimmers that want to see what is on the other side of your orifices on those black water SAR dives.

I am not going to buy another piece of Dive equipment until I pay the Credit Cards completely off. Hopefully crime will go up and I can get lots of overtime...(jk)

:11: what time were you there? I was there picking up tanks this avro around 330-400pm..... small world.. eh...

Was there a named dive(depth) yet for the first dive? I might have missed it, but I need to have my doubles filled tomorrow. I'm flying out on a trip, then spending xmas out of town, flying again, and then diving with you fine people! I won't have time to get the right mix prior to the dive if I don't fill tomorrow.

Padipro would like to join us if there is room. If not, can he be an alternate in case someone cancels?

sounds good Mempilot, I'll add him to our list.

As for mixes, I would go with 32%-36% just to be safe. I'd love to hit the Princess Anne again, max depth 95 feet. It's really up to the group and Mother Nature. I'm bringing 32%, 36%, & air for the last dive. Do you have any suggestions for dive sites?
