not for a few years, but I have witnessed this first hand a few times ;)
hunt rock is awesome. very challenging freediving/spearfishing on the backside (out of the closed zone). good pick.
go to your local pistol range and collect the hardcast bullets of the berm after a good rain. it's very clean, super hard lead, no jacket. any range with IPSC or IDPA matches will be covered in it. I have 50 or so lbs of it now, great for filling shot bags or melting into blocks.
Nanaimo: hit the usual spots, the wrecks, Jessie Island, Clarke Rock, Dod Narrows, Snake Island..
if you can head north, there is some spectacular diving out of Campbell River, Port McNeil, and Port Hardy.
I've lived, worked, and traveled all over the world, great deal of time in the middle east. Looking for DM or Dive instructor positions. I am very experienced teaching Skin diving and entry level freediving, as well as spearfishing, in addition to the normal Naui list of courses.
Currently...
if you're concerned about the $, and hose routing isn't an issue, go for the XTX50/DS4. I've dove the full line of Apeks regs, and honestly can't tell the difference in performance between any of them.
dual bladder on a singles rig? back up transmitter AND SPG? I'm speechless... :dontknow:
steps to fixing a hub:
1. inspect hub, make sure it is clean and dry.
2. take a ice cold beer out of the fridge. open it. do not drink.
3. toss HUB in the garbage can.
4. drink beer.
been diving Apeks regs since 2005, love them. have the DS4/ATX40 and TX100/TX100. can't tell any difference in either except the hose routing at any depth.
just realized it's your site! crotch strap good idea, helps prevent shallow-water-brown-out when 1500lb animal shoots by your head at 10". ;)
love the opening to the second Barkley Sound Vid haha
nice link Cjfox, good vids. he makes some interesting assumptions about sealions, he's obviously never been freediving around them.... when a bull shows up looking for a challenge he'll have some other things to say ;)
did 20hrs of diving in Jan... still haven't seen a fish...
great place in the summer, never ending supply of carp to shoot, but in the winter, the diving blows hard....
you LDS must love you :D
but now you've doubled the HP o-rings....
another SPG & hose will add 3 o-rings... and if failure rates are so low, why do you need another one?
