I have a dry suit. I miss having the feeling of water on my body while diving AND dry suits are a pain with the extra undergarments. I do like getting on a boat and being dry if it's cold out.
But I doubt I'll ever dive in ice and if I do I WILL use a dry suit.
My wrists and ankles are...
I have a problem with wetsuits. They don't fit.
I have a 46" chest and I am 6 feet tall. I usually get an XXL suit. My suit now is a 3mm and I may get a 5mm, cause it's cold in Minnesota and I'm getting old.
Regardless how tight the suit fits...and believe me even the XXL is tight in the...
I am looking at getting a spinal cord stimulator implanted to treat my constant leg pain.
The manufacturers say you cannot dive to 33feet.
Is this what others have found?
I'm not so interested in testing it myself, but I will if I have to!!!
Thanks
Mike
I was looking at this dry suit:
HOG Gear HOG Predator Drysuit - Dive Right In Scuba - Plainfield, IL
The sizing looks like it would fit me, but it's not a "common" suit.
I have a Canon A640 camera with a Canon WP-DC8 housing.
I also have two SEA and SEA YS60s with a DA-O-S Digital Adaptor to convert the analog light signal from my canon to the YS 60s.(works very well).
I also have a 20mm lens for the a SEA and SEA MMXIIE, a 2T macro and a 3T macro...
I have the opportunity to dive St. Kitts in November.
I am leary of diving the Caribbean in November, though-storms.
Is it good diving?(I guess all diving is good diving!) I have been to Bonaire and that was fantastic.
Thanks in advance
Mike
Got some extra time after work to dive in Florida. I'll be in Miami, but don't mind traveling wherever the water is good.
Is Ft. Lauderdale good vis in the first part of January?
What would you recommend?
Thanks

Hello All
I have some money, some time. And of course I LOVE diving.
I am thinking of a trip to Thailand and/or Australia OR a trip to the Red Sea.
It doesn't have to be cheap. And I could take up to 3 weeks to do it. I would like to do it in July if possible.
I have been to...
I have a SS backplate.
Do I need to use the STA with it? I have been told that I don't and that the tank will stay in place just fine-never tried it though. True?
Additionally,
I brought my SS backplate to Bora Bora and it tore into my wing while bouncing around in my scuba duffel...
Hi Everyone!
Now I got this camera...it's cool...but I have this problem in that I don't know what I'm doing.
People tell me to "block off" the internal flash. But how much "blocking off" do I have to do...AND
The housing came with a "blast shield"(I like to call it that cause it...
I just bought a heinrichsweikamp optical adaptor.
In their "gallery" they show this device attached to cameras with bungee cord, or glued etc.
But they ALL have a little white tube that the adaptor sits in. Where do I get this? Or how do I make it?
Thanks
Mike
Any cool books on marine life physiology I should check out?
I have a degree in physiology so something a little more technically oriented would be great.
Thanks
Mike
Is it always necessary to use an STA with a backplate?
The STA displaces the tank away from me and with my Fred T. backplate(6 lbs) that is all I need nowadays for weight.
Will the tank straps endure a lot of wear without the STA?
Thanks
Mike
I am looking for an optical strobe for my housing(Canon).
I can't find anything local(Minneapolis/St. Paul).
I am willing to rent from a private party....and pay of course.
I leave for Honduras on Saturday.
Thanks for helping me out.
Mike
I just purchased a Canon A640 and a Canon WP-DC8 housing.
Which strobe should I get and from where??!!!-kind of in a hurry on this one, so the sooner the better...going to Roatan.
and if you live in Minneapolis, I might be willing to rent your digital strobe for 10 days.
Thanks
Mike
