I'll be so happy to be anywhere (other than home) that if we miss the ferry, I'll just book a nice room and dinner in Playa..I dont care!:drunks:..Aldora will still be there in the morning.

Tough flying to Moscow when you want to go to Zagreb:)....I flew Aeroflot a few years back to Moscow on a Boeing 777...I wouldn’t care much to be on an Llyusin!
Back in the US
Back in the US
Back in the USSR!

I finally have my dates! It took forever to get these appointments lined up in Vegas. I'm going to try for August 23rd (or 24th) - September 2nd.

Now to find cheap flights, lodging, and diving. :)

I spoke to Scuba Club Cozumel today on the phone. She told me that they are not opening in August or September. The boss will decide about October.

As for my (paid) reservation for October, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I'm just hoping that they open.

Just got this from the US State Dept as part of the STEP program. Join if you have not already done so.

Do not travel to Mexico due to COVID-19. Exercise increased caution in Mexico due to crime and kidnapping. Some areas have increased risk. Read the entire Travel Advisory.

They issued a level 4 advisory for Egypt today, too...I wonder if they are just issuing them at all of the countries that are open to Americans across the board?

They outa do a travel advisory to Portland LOL. I think I'll just stay here, keep the gates locked and chill by the pool.

Add Fl, AZ, CA....to that travel advisory....just came back from a picnic with the wife dining outside by the Hudson River here in NYC...everyone is doning a mask....this is why we here in NY beat the odds.

off to CZM in the morning :)

I looked at flights. I don't know what you'd want in lodging, and there are too many great dive ops to choose from (unless you'd like for me to suggest my personal favorite like most do here), but let's start with flights.

Spirit is cheaper, but I'd suggest spending a little more to go on American. Going on the 23rd is doable, but the 24th is cheaper. I'd suggest the 6 am departure that gives you less than 2 hours in DFW but plenty of time as the 7 am flight gives you less than an hour to change planes and maybe terminals. Comparing one-ways first...

American is not flying to & from Cozumel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a while, but you could come back on Monday the 31st. Except that returns gives you less than 2 hours to clear immigration and customs, then reenter security and board, maybe at a different terminal. It'd be risky, and there is not a later connection.

But you could fly to Cozumel, and return from Cancun. You'd need to leave very early to ride the ferry (whenever it goes?), then the bus, to catch that 11 am flight, so you might opt for the 12:55 pm flight even with the longer Miami layover.
