Ahah...I saw the update to Desktop and downloaded it. Still didn't work, but when I unpaired my Perdix AI and reconnected, it worked.

The guys that are working on it now told me that they had asked back then as well and, as of then, had gotten no info, either.
This makes me quite sad. When speaking with @dirkhh on irc before I purchased my Petrel 1, he gave me the sense that Shearwater were very communicative with them. Hopefully they are not actively hostile, like suunto.

Wow, that escalated quickly! We have been working with the open source community for the last decade or so and have no plans to stop. The last I heard was that the Subsurface people were working on support for BLE. Microsoft hasn't been making the process any easier.

Yes, as I said, at least one Subsurface developer is working on it. The reason it is not already done is, from my understanding and from my own attempt to get information, because Shearwater was not helping. If Shearwater has finally given the interface specifications to someone on the team now, that is great. But, I have not seen any posts on the Subsurface email list indicating that that has happened.

I have had my Perdix AI for several months now and it is definitely frustrating that there is no support in Subsurface yet, and the support for the AI features in the Shearwater desktop is still so poor as well as the actual support for the AI in the Perdix firmware itself.

You assert you are a professional software developer; so be it. From my point of view the Perdix and its support and performance and company attitude are unparalleled in the industry, perhaps in ANY industry. and I'm sorry your own attitude is so piss-poor. You are determined to be aggrieved, so it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Chill.

I've been able to download dives from my Perdix AI directly to Dive Log on my iPhone including AI data since early January. I can then synch logs back and forth between Dive Log on my iPhone and Diving Log 6.0 on my PC. It all works great - maybe Subsurface and Microsoft are the ones with the issues?

I apologize if I have in any way misrepresented you. I am a happy customer. I am happier that you continue to work with the open source community! Happier still that you engage us here in the open forum.

Thank you!

Is there really that big of a difference between Perdix and perdix AI? Subsurface is importing from my non-ai perdix with no problems.

Just got back from a trip and discovered this bug while trying to download to my PC. Eagerly awaiting a fix...anyone found a workaround?

I have all the dives uploaded to my phone and Shearwater Cloud...is there an app on my PC that could connect to the Cloud to pull stuff over?
download the latest update for Windows 10 (they released fix , which includes Bluetooth connectivity) and UPDATE Shearwater Desktop software (they also updated it 2 days ago). Works like a charm now! :)

Uploaded my last 10 dives, which i could not log cuz of that bug.

As a sometimes Subsurface contributor (but nothing to do with the BLE code), my understanding is that Shearwater have been helpful by providing a test device to the serious developers and some details on their protocol. You can't ask for a lot more. The real issue is with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) which is new, poorly standardized and with different levels of support on different platforms and not very similar to traditional Bluetooth. The latest Perdixes (Perdices?) only use BLE, so they can't be treated the same as older Shearwater computers. Progress is being made, with working downloads in Linux so far, but Subsurface is a volunteer project developed by people with real jobs and new major features rarely happen overnight.
