Dove Vortex this weekend (Aug 28-29). 'Twas beautiful; not too crowded so not too many rototillers mucking the place up. The cave beyond the gate remains closed so I had to forego my usual delightful excursion to the crack, but other than that it was a very nice time and very pretty indeed.
There's no reason to stay away.

Don't you have a vested interest in Gulf diving though?

Yes. Most of my diving is gulf. I love diving the gulf. I go to the Springs for training. I absolutely love Morrison and it's natural surroundings. I am not interested in cavern or cave diving otherwise I would dive it and Vortex more often.

I cave dive regularly and don't have that much interest in Vortex at all, its not exactly what I call pretty cave :D

Morrison is a pretty cavern..

You just don't have a good appreciation for Christmas lights :D

Those are naturally occurring artifacts - just from a more recent era :).

I believe you are correct. Maybe from the K-mart era, before the walmarts of today :D

That would be the "PreWalmart-ambrian" period.:rofl3::rofl3:

Would I dive at Vortex? Sure!

Let me know when you want to go, :D
I'll drive and I have a place we can stay!:eyebrow:

that is if you don't mind limiting yourself to intro level dive profiles.... :rofl3:

Over at Cypress Spring we loved Harold and Linda and Heather and James. The only thing we didn't like was the green catsup that Harold got at a bargain price for the hotdogs. We also wished he changed the oil in his pizza more than once a year. But when Harold got the chance to sell the spring we moved on.

We loved Mr Joe and the live bluegrass Saturday nights at Morrison Spring. But when the owners of Morrison decided to sell to the state and they spent thousands on unneeded improvements we moved on.

We loved Connie and Danny and Erica at Vortex and spent many wonderful days there. We also have great respect for Doc and Ruth. But when they sold out - we moved on.

Shane and Andrea our our life long friends. We love them so. But when Shane and Lowell's differences came to a head and new folks took over - we moved on.

You'll notice they always sold out on us - we never sold out on them.

We'll always move on - because we always have and always will.

Springs seem to last longer than people - good news sometimes.
