I've got 2 oceanics and their stupid cable. Hate 'em.

I hate my wife's GEO just because of the cable, oh wait Oceanic dive logbook on a PC sucks worst, now using it with macdive but the cable still sucks. But the macdive doesn't have as good of a log detail, maybe that will come later. I love my Aladin and it has a good elog book for mac but it is almost 3 times thicker then the geo, just can't win. Macdive can also be synced with our iphones.

2 AL80 tanks. I wish I'd gotten HP steel130s

I've just bought my VEO 180NX at a special discount price as it has been discontinued by Oceanic. $ 197 + tax.
The USB cable $ 90 + tax, no discount any where.
50 % of the value of the PDC for the USB cable. There is no relationship.

Has anyone regretted buying one of those $100 usb cables for their dive computer? Or is the ability to upload to the computer so awesome that it deadens the pain?

I regret it in the sense that it wasn't worth the $100.... the software that came with it is just so impossibly difficult to use (very confusing UI, buggy, etc) so I used it maybe 2x, and then gave up. However, I like that someday, if I want to take the time and willing to suffer the pain... i could upload all my data. *shrug* if it was only $20, then I wouldn't regret it at all.

Just an FYI about those things so others don't buy them and have regrets. They are available from eBay for a few dollars. A shop tried to sell me one once :/

For me it was a Underwater Breathing Systems compressor...!!!!
